Recency

The "RECENCY_DAYS" section of the Siteconfig page governs recency rules enforced by the system.

This dictates the maximum number of days that can elapse since any pilot last flew an aircraft at this school. Any pilot outside of this time limit can only authorise a DUAL instruction flight. In the example below, if the pilot has not flown in the last 60 days they will be prevented from flying any flights other than a DUAL instruction flight.

Set this configuration value to zero (0) to disable this system logic and allow pilots to authorise irrespective of when last they flew. Note that this restriction does not apply to holders of an “AB” (ab-initio) license as pilots with this license type are not able to fly anything but DUAL instruction anyway.

During flight authorisation, the system will BLOCK the authorisation if the pilot does not comply with this recency requirement.

In order to track (and adjust) the date of the last flight, there is an entry on the member record for each pilot. This will be pre-populated with the date of each pilot’s last flight, and will be updated automatically during the invoicing of each flight. In order to update this date manually (for example, for a pilot who also flies at another school / club) you need to hold the MEMBERS_ADMIN security key.

The recency rules are also applied during the green-tag process, but pilots who are not current are still allowed to green-tag but with a warning message (so that they are able to undertake a DUAL instruction flight).
