The Member link allows information on each club member, student, instructor or staff member to be captured. Every user of the system must be created as a Member. Administrative staff can create new Members who thereafter can update themselves. The distinction between Member types is handled in the "Club Details" section of the membership form.

Personal Details

The personal details section is relatively straightforward and should be completed according to the descriptions of each field. Once an entry has been created for him, any ordinary member or student can access and update his own Personal Details.

License Details

The License Details can also be edited by the member. Generally, an instructor would assist an ab initio pilot with this information.

If any of the details in the Personal or License details are edited by the member or by an instructor, an email is generated and forwarded to the selected administrative address of the club. This allows for incomplete information to be challenged, and items such as license information to be verified.

Club Details

The Club Details section is administered by the club or association to whom the Book-a-Flight system belongs. Ths portion of the information is not editable by the member / student himself.

Security information is also held here. The field "user level" is used to determine the category of member that has been configured. The categories are as follows:

  • 1 Temporary or Introductory Member

This classification is designed for members who will do very little with the system and are not likely to have a long-term relationship with the club or training organization. They are able to green-tag themselves, and to sign out aircraft, but there is no other functionality available to them.

  • 2 Normal member
  • 8 Instructor (can make bookigns for other members; change certain member details; change aircraft information)
  • 9 Administrator (can do anything)

Numbers between 3 and 7 are reserved for future use.
